Therapy isn’t just for crises. It’s for anyone curious about growth, clarity, or navigating life’s changes with more support and self-awareness.
What can I expect from the first session?
What can I expect from the first session?
After your free consultation, your first paid session is a comprehensive assessment. We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, your history, and what you want to be different.
By the end, you’ll leave with clear goals and a plan for how we’ll work together.
Do you offer both online and in-person sessions?
Do you offer both online and in-person sessions?
We offer solely secure video sessions for clients who prefer remote work or have scheduling constraints. Virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions for most concerns. All virtual sessions use HIPAA-compliant platforms to protect your privacy.
How often should I come to therapy?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people come weekly, others bi-weekly or monthly. You and your therapist will decide what feels right based on your needs and pace.

Insurance companies dictate treatment length, require diagnostic labels that follow you forever, and demand access to your private records. As a private-pay practice, your sessions are completely confidential, unlimited in scope, and tailored entirely to your needs. We provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement.

Is everything I share kept private?
Is everything I share kept private?
Yes. Therapy at Thrivana is confidential, and as a private-pay practice, your sessions aren’t routinely shared with insurance companies for payment or authorization.
We only share information in two situations:
With your written permission (for example, if you ask us to coordinate care or provide a document).
When required by law, including:
Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult (mandatory reporting)
Immediate safety concerns, such as a specific, imminent threat of serious harm to you or to an identifiable person (duty to protect/warn rules vary by jurisdiction)
A valid court order requiring disclosure
We’ll review these limits clearly so there are no surprises and so you can feel safe being fully honest in session.
How long does treatment usually take?
How long does treatment usually take?
It depends on your goals. Some clients achieve what they need in 12-16 focused sessions. Others benefit from longer-term work. Our goal is to give you the tools to thrive independently. We'll regularly assess progress and adjust accordingly.

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less notice are charged $100.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
We draw from multiple evidence-based approaches—Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) for trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotion regulation, and somatic techniques to support nervous system health.
There’s no one-size-fits-all here. We tailor the approach to you—choosing the right tools for your goals so you can make meaningful progress as efficiently as possible.
